Everything you need to know about finding a mentor and booking sessions on MentorSub.
Finding a mentor
MentorSub offers two ways to find the right mentor for you:
Browse mentors
Go to Find a mentor to browse all available mentors. You can filter by expertise, industry, and more to find someone who matches your goals.
MentorMatch
Try MentorMatch for personalised mentor recommendations. Tell us about your goals and we'll suggest mentors who are the best fit.
Your first session — step by step
Apply to work with a mentor
Find a mentor you'd like to work with and send them an application. Include a brief message about your goals and what you'd like to get from mentoring.
Get to know each other
If your mentor is interested, you'll enter a getting-to-know-you phase. You can message each other and book a free introductory video call to see if it's a good fit.
Accept the mentorship
Once your mentor is ready, they'll send you an offer. You can then accept to officially start the mentorship. You'll need an active subscription to accept.
Book a session
Click the "Book a meeting" button at the top of your conversation to see your mentor's available times. Pick a slot that works for you and confirm. You'll both receive a calendar invite.
Join the video call
When it's time for your session, open the conversation and click "Join" on the meeting banner. The video call runs right inside the app — no external tools needed.
Booking tips
- Check your timezone — Times are shown in your local timezone. Make sure your browser timezone is correct.
- Calendar invites — You'll receive an email with a calendar invite (.ics) when you book a session. Add it to your calendar so you don't forget.
- Credits — You need session credits to book. Credits come from your subscription or can be purchased as add-ons in Billing.
- Prepare — Send your mentor a message before the session with topics you'd like to cover. This helps make the most of your time together.
Cancelling or rescheduling
You can cancel a session as long as it's more than 24 hours before the scheduled time. To reschedule, cancel the existing session and book a new one. Sessions within 24 hours cannot be cancelled through the app.
